Define Me

I was wrestling with feeling worthless and unlovable. Then God gave me this poem. It just kind of flowed out of me and I'm still reeling in the glorious truths he was painting in the words he gave me. Hope you like it :)

Blazing fire
touch me deep.
I pray for you my soul to keep
in the ever-living truth of your real reality.
Let me live now with a vision of how you view me.
Burn the darkness in me that I see
to expose the pure me you intend to be.
The “me” you bought for the highest fee
and cleansed, restored, loved, redeemed.
I don’t see it much now but that doesn’t mean
it’s not who I am. Its faith that I need.
For God says I have value and who am I to disagree.
Sure my flesh is evil but God chose to believe
that the image I was made in is far too costly
to let it fall into sin and the dominion of the enemy.
So he fought the oppressor and in love, died for the key
to unlock me from death and give me life eternally.
I belong to Jesus. I’m his. He takes the lead.
He’s taking me thru fire but his intent is refining
Though it hurts like hell Im not giving into the lies shouting at me.
THIS is the truth of what defines me:
I am free.
I am clean.
Finally I can see.
Finally I can breathe.
Without him I was a lost cause doomed eternally
But Jesus took the post-eden dirty me
And now his reflection is my identity.
Now his reflection is my identity.
